Sidekicked by Kim Powers, directed by Jackson Gay

Dorset Theatre Festival, 2024; Dorset, VT

McAndrew shimmied, sang, wiggled, frowned, danced, pouted, guffawed and so many other qualifiers that should be associated with a one-actor play that is executed to perfection. To do some of those things in any production is admirable, but to do them all while being alone on stage for 65 minutes with no breaks is just amazing to witness.
— Telly Halkias, Brattleboro Reformer
A one-person production requires that its performer be exceptionally skilled and engaging, able to carry the piece through its entirety without compromising the interest or attention of the audience, and Kelly McAndrew does this brilliantly. Her portrayal of Vance is animated and immersive, allowing the audience to feel her anger and frustration while also being able to sympathize with the difficult family situations and mental health challenges of her past.
